Sucralose is the last ingredient on the list of ingredients.

• The chemical name for this ingredient is trichlorosucrose. 

• The chemical formula for sucralose is C₁₂H₁₉Cl₃O₈

• The health effects of sucralose is that it causes gastrointestinal problems, blurred vision, and allergic reactions. 

• This substance is a white powder with a very sweet taste. It has a melting point of 130 degrees Celsius.

• This substance is added in the product as another sugar substitute. 

Malic Acid

Malic Acid is the fourth ingredient found in the product.

• The chemical name for Malic acid is hydroxybutanedioic acid.

• The health effects of this substance is that it can cause diarrhea, nausea, and stomach discomfort.  If you use it when using products like creams and lotions it may cause redness, irritation, swelling, or itching. 

• It is derived from catolytic oxidation of benzene to maleic acid which is then heated with steam under pressure to create malic acid. 

• It is used in the sweet iced tea mix to replace some of the sour acids that you would typically use in these types of mixes.

Tricalcium Phosphate

Tricalcium is the third ingredient in the product.

• The chemical name for Tricalcium Phosphate is Tricalcium Diphosphate.

• It's chemical formula is

• The health effects of tricalcium phosphate is that it can cause decrease in appetite, can cause try throat or increase thirst. 

• Tricalcium Phosphate is derived from an inorganic source such as mineral rocks. 

• Tricalcium Phosphate is an odorless white powder that is tasteless and has a melting point of 1670 degrees Celsius.

• it is used in the product to prevent caking in the mixture.

Maltodextrin

Maltodextrin is the second ingredient found in the Nestea Sweet Iced Tea Mix.

• The chemical name for maltodextrin is maltodextrin. 

• Maltdextrin has the chemical formula of C_6nH_(10n+2)O_(5n+1)

• The Health effects of Maltodextrin is that if you consume too much of the substance it may cause blood pressure if taken incorrectly. This substance is usually taken by body builders as a protein because it is absorbed by the body very easily and releases a lot of energy into the muscles so if taken without the right exercise it can cause weight gain. 

• Hydrolyzed starch that has enzymes and acids which is later filtered and purified is done to create Maltodextrin.

• Maltodextrin is a white powder with a yellowish shadow that is odorless.

• It is used in the product to substitute for sugar.

Citric Acid

• The bad health effects of citric acid is that it can cause shortness of breath and sore throat. If you expose it to the skin or eyes it may cause redness and pain. If you consume citric acid repeatedly it may cause erosion to teeth enamel

• Citric Acid is derived from the juices of citric fruit. 

• Citric Acid is an odorless powder. It has a very sweet, tart, and sour taste. In has a high melting point of 153 degrees Celsius which is why it dissolves easily.  

• The purpose of including this ingredient in the mix is because it gives it the taste of the lemon in the beverage.

I chose this product because i have use it on a daily base. You add it to water and you get a sweet tea beverage that is very good. Nestea has manufactured this product since 2000 by Nestle. It is sold worldwide in many well known grocery stores.
